WCU Alumni Network Celebrates First Chapter Installation in Texas

West Coast University’s Alumni Network held its first chapter installation on Nov. 2. Alumni, students, faculty and guests all gathered at the Venetian Terrace to celebrate the event. The chapter is located in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and dedicated to hosting events, providing support and connecting alumni with current students.

The event kicked off with a speech from Chini Camargo, the WCU director of alumni relations and events, who recapped all of the events the Dallas campus has hosted in the past year. Camargo also introduced the new chapter board.

The board members announced included Erin Choe, BSN ’14 and Linsday Daniel, BSN ’15 who will be co-presidents of the Dallas-Fort Worth chapter.

Daniel was ecstatic to see the alumni community has grown since she’s graduated from WCU-Dallas.

“It’s a great way to network,” she said. “People who are looking for new jobs or looking to advance. It’s the perfect way to take your first step by being a part of the Alumni Network.”

The ceremony also included some words from WCU Co-President Dr. Jeb Egbert who has seen the Dallas campus grow into what it has become today.

“In 2011, I came here and there wasn’t a single student,” Egbert said. “Now we’re looking forward to a student body with 1,000 students next year. So just to see the growth of the Dallas campus in our community here is really very exciting.”
