WCU’s Occupational Therapy Doctorate Program Now Accredited By ACOTE

Following a three-day onsite visit in July, the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education granted West Coast University’s occupation therapy doctorate program accreditation for seven years this August.

WCU Occupational Therapy Dean and Program Director Dr. Stacey Willis said ACOTE accreditors were “blown away and extremely impressed” by the program, and found zero areas of noncompliance in the more than 200 occupational therapy doctorate educational standards that were evaluated.

“We are beyond excited and so proud of this accomplishment. We have a world-class occupational therapy program,” Willis said. “It’s a program that the university, faculty and students can be proud of.”

Located at WCU’s Center for Graduate Studies in Los Angeles, the 32-month occupational therapy doctorate program provides students with a deepened engagement with practice skills, innovation, occupational therapy, theory and research.
