Perioperative nursing refers to nursing care provided to patients undergoing surgical procedures, including preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases. Perioperative nurses collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patient safety, prepare patients for surgery, assist during surgical procedures, and monitor patients’ recovery in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) or surgical recovery area.
