What programs does WCU does WCU-Miami offer?
WCU-Miami offers nursing programs at the associate, baccalaureate, and pre- licensure master’s levels. Options include:
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- LPN to BSN program (for working licensed practical nurses)
- Direct-Entry Master of Science in Nursing (MSN—for graduates of a non-nursing bachelor’s degree who want to change to a nursing career)
An LPN to ADN pathway is also available.
WCU-Miami offers three pace options for the BSN program, so you can choose the
schedule that fits your life.
I have a bachelor’s degree in another field and want to switch to nursing. Which program should I choose?
Career changers with a bachelor’s have two paths to consider: the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or the Direct-Entry Master of Science in Nursing (DEMSN).
- The BSN is designed for students who are new to nursing and who want to
build a strong clinical foundation. - The DEMSN is specifically for career changers who hold a bachelor’s degree in a non-nursing field. It moves you through foundational nursing coursework and into graduate-level study.
The DEMSN pathway may be a good fit if you’re looking to reach an advanced practice role sooner, since you can move on to a graduate certificate program after earning your MSN. Both options help you develop hands-on skills through simulation labs and clinical rotations, and prepare you to sit for the NCLEX-RN exam.
The right choice depends on your career goals and timeline. An admissions advisor can walk you through your options.
Does WCU-Miami have a waitlist?
No, WCU-Miami doesn’t have a waitlist for its nursing programs. You can start your education when you’re ready.
Some nursing schools also mandate that students re-apply to the nursing program after completing general education courses. WCU-Miami doesn’t require this. With us, you’re a nursing student from day one.

WCU-Miami’s 5,000-square-foot Simulation Center is accredited by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH). You’ll train with high-fidelity manikins—specialized healthcare education tools that can cry, sweat, and react like real patients.
You’ll practice hands-on clinical skills including blood draws, patient monitoring, and responding to patient emergencies in a safe, controlled environment before beginning your clinical rotations at local healthcare facilities.
