West Coast University-Los Angeles Welcomes February 2018 Graduating BSN Cohort

West Coast University-Los Angeles celebrated the pinning of more than 70 new bachelor of science in nursing graduates on Feb. 1.

The graduates along with their family and friends filled the seats of the Sportsmen’s Lodge Event Center in Los Angeles.

WCU-LA graduate Shelby Jackson reflected on her journey to become a nurse.

“My son was born with a pulmonary heart issue and so during his hospitalization, I got to see the nurses and how they cared for others which made me want to become one,” she said.

After the ceremonial pinning and candle lighting, the graduates gathered with their families to celebrate their accomplishments. Alumna Maria Figueroa shared that she is thankful for her experience at WCU and is excited to see what the future has in store including furthering her education as a nurse practitioner in the future.

“The reason I chose West Coast is because it was effective,” Figueroa said. “I read a lot of reviews about it and I knew I would have a really good chance of succeeding in this program.”

Fellow alumna Trixie Comea also shared her gratitude for WCU’s BSN program and is ready to begin helping others.

“My favorite thing about West Coast University is that it’s an accelerated program where you can achieve a bachelor’s degree in about two years and that way you can start your career and start helping people right away,” Comea said.
