West Coast University Graduates Celebrate Spring 2026 Commencement in Anaheim

More than 1,500 West Coast University graduates celebrated earning their degrees during commencement at Honda Arena in Anaheim, marking a major milestone for students across WCU’s campuses and online programs.

For many graduates, the ceremony represented more than the completion of a degree. It was a moment to reflect on years of hard work, personal growth, family support and the next step in their careers.

For Allison G., a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate from WCU Online Programs, commencement marked one of the biggest accomplishments of her life. After beginning her career in marketing and journalism, Allison made a major career change into mental health counseling, drawn by personal loss, faith and a desire to serve others.

“Today is commencement day. I am obtaining my master’s degree, which I am, aside from my mother, the only person in my family to have an education of this extent. And so, it’s a very big day for me. And it really puts a stamp on one of the biggest moments of my life that I will never forget because of West Coast.”

Through WCU’s online program and her involvement with the Student Advisory Board, Allison found support, connection and a platform to advocate for other students. Looking ahead, she hopes to help people cope with anxiety and depression and continue serving those who need support.

Janna M., a PharmD graduate from WCU’s Center for Graduate Studies, also reflected on the community and opportunities she gained throughout her time at West Coast University. A former pharmacy technician, Janna was inspired to pursue pharmacy after seeing the impact a compassionate pharmacist had on her grandmother during cancer treatment.

“Oh my gosh, I can’t believe I made it here. With all the accolades that I was able to collect over the years, but I’ve gained so much more — a community, a huge network, and I’m really excited because I’m going to be starting my residency here at Cedar Sinai in Los Angeles very soon as well. So, I think I’m just excited for the next step at this point.”

During her program, Janna took on leadership roles, became involved in student organizations and earned national recognition. As she prepares to begin her residency at Cedars-Sinai, she hopes to make an impact in ambulatory care and continue serving patients with compassion and purpose.

For Jenna M., a BSN graduate from WCU-Ontario, commencement was the result of perseverance.

“I don’t even have the words to say because I look back and it seemed impossible in that moment and now, I’m here and I’m like, “Oh my goodness, I’m ready to walk the stage.” And as much as it’s like my accomplishment, it’s more so for my family, too. And I didn’t want to let anybody down. And so, I’m excited to make them all proud.”

Supported by family, instructors and campus resources, Jenna said her journey taught her the value of second chances, perseverance and asking for help. Now, as a WCU graduate, she hopes to leave a positive impact on patients and families through nursing.

Ren A., an MSOT graduate from WCU’s Center for Graduate Studies, said his experience was shaped by the support of his classmates, professors and loved ones. After discovering occupational therapy through his work in skilled nursing, Ren developed a passion for helping older adults live meaningful, independent lives.

“At the beginning, it was really nerve-wracking, but as the time went on, our experience as a small cohort was actually a blessing in disguise. It was a type of class where one person was falling, all 15 others would lift you up. Today is not just a celebration for me. It’s a celebration for the people that lifted us and supported us.”
