WCU Peer Mentors Say Goodbye to CHA Students

West Coast University had the privilege of hosting nine students from CHA University in Seoul, Korea during the Spring 2017 term.

This is the third year that WCU has partnered with CHA University to provide students with an opportunity to study in the U.S., taking classes on campus and participating in clinical rotations at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center. In addition to the academic program, the CHA students also participated in WCU’s Peer Mentorship program.

Through the program, CHA students were partnered with WCU students who assisted them with the transition into life as an American nursing student. During the term, WCU Peer Mentors helped the CHA students adjust to the classroom and clinical settings, as well as the social aspects of being on campus and exploring Southern California. The group made trips to San Diego, Universal Studios, City Walk, Disneyland and many local restaurants.

A farewell luncheon at WCU-Los Angeles was the final event of the term, providing an opportunity to honor the peer mentors, CHA students and celebrate their accomplishments. Professors, former Global Public Health scholars and WCU staff were all in attendance to bid farewell to the CHA students.
