WCU-Los Angeles Hosts Fall Nursing Career Fair for Students and Graduates

More than 25 job recruiters packed the lobby of the West Coast University-Los Angeles campus for the Fall Nursing Career Fair on Oct. 7.

Recruiters were looking for new graduates, LVNs, care givers, CNAs or for people looking to gain experience by volunteering.

“I think it’s really important to have a Fall and a Spring career fair on campus because a lot of the new grad applications open up so when we invite facilities in, they’re able to talk about what those applications are like, when they’re open. They can look at resumes and give our grads some advice, and that’s very helpful in the application process,” said Michelle Meitner, Career Services specialist at WCU-Los Angeles.

“I think students that utilize Career Services early on, we really see that impact with their final courses and graduating. They’re finding jobs sooner. Their resumes are ready, they’ve prepared cover letters, they’ve done a mock interview with us, they’ve also maybe engaged in volunteer activities and opportunities that are available and that really makes them stand out as great candidates,” she said.
