It’s Margaret Santandrea’s time to shine.
West Coast University’s NCLEX success manager in Orange County recently was named a 2016 West Region Nurse.com GEM Award finalist in the Excellence in Education and Mentorship category.
“Margaret has been a stalwart and steadfast, student-success oriented leader, working tirelessly to continuously improve NCLEX outcomes at her campus,” WCU Provost Jeb Egbert, Ed.D said. “And with results in the high 80s, as reported in fourth quarter 2015, it’s clear the campus is achieving great success.”
As a finalist for the award, Santandrea is among 30 nurses from the West region who will be honored at the 2016 Nurse.com GEM Awards Dinner in August. At the event, one nurse in each category will be named a regional winner and will be entered in the national phase of the program.
WCU-OC Nursing Dean Erica Martinez submitted Margaret’s name and nomination recognizing her role in supporting our students working on their NCLEX success.
“There are scores of students, graduates, and now practicing nurses out there who owe much of their success to her devotion, wisdom, and guidance,” Martinez wrote in recommendation of Santandrea. “She uncovers the rough, raw talent within the individual and assists them with polishing, so that they can be a shining GEM themselves.”
