WCU-Dallas Career Fair Promotes Benefits of Connectivity

More than 150 students and alumni from West Coast University-Dallas attended an on-campus career fair, hosted by the Career Services team this February.

Senior Career Services specialist Valerie Lopez said several of the recruiters after the fair shared how impressed they were by the candidates, adding some of the recruiters held on-the-spot interviews and a few students even received job offers at the event.

“We always love it when students who attend career fairs get the ultimate in positive feedback from employers, which is a job offer,” Lopez said. “We take a lot of pride in our students, in preparing them to become amazing nurses and making sure they present themselves in the best way possible.”

Nearly 20 employers and volunteer partners attended the event, Lopez said, which is offered twice a year to help introduce students to local agencies and organizations.

“The one thing we really want students to know is that they don’t have to wait for a career fair to come to see us,” Lopez said. “We are always available for students, no matter where they are in their schooling, and we are here for graduates too. We love helping out our alumni as much as we enjoy helping to place new grads find their first job.”
