WCU Alumni Spotlight: Samantha McPeak, RN

From the first time Samantha McPeak volunteered with her church group, she knew that she wanted to be a nurse. That love for the profession grew throughout her time at West Coast University-Orange County, and now as an Alumni, she knows she made the right choice.

“In my youth group we used to do a lot of community service and we would work in skilled nursing facilities helping the elderly and I just knew that I was going to be a nurse,” McPeak said. “I love it and I’m so glad I did it.”

What advice would you give a new student?

Go to the workshops. The workshops are awesome. I’ve never been a workshop person or a career fair type of person but I found that going to one workshop is so helpful for your future.

How has Career Services helped you?

Career Services is amazing! They really are absolutely incredible. They help you with interviews, meet and greets, your resume and even your portfolio. They helped me with my cover letter. They pay attention to what you need and they will personally help you write a cover letter for every single one of the organizations you want to apply for.
