WCU-OC Shares ‘Love For Learning’ About Student Help

The West Coast University-Orange County campus hosted a ”Love For Learning” event on Feb. 17. All of the departments participated and donated door prizes for students to win.

“The idea behind the event is for students to educate themselves on the resources West Coast University has to offer,” WCU-OC Student Affairs Director Sherry Koshi said.

Departments that participated included General Education, with WCU-OC Science Chair Dr. Entezampour Mo donating two sets of science study flash cards worth $50; Financial Aid donated gift baskets; Dental Hygiene offered electric tooth brushes; the Nursing Department donated a quilt made by Professor Laura Leedahl, gift cards for supplies and a RN board game to help prep up for NCLEX; and Student Services, where WCU-OC Executive Director Ada Gerard generously donated two $500 book vouchers for students to win.

Plus each table had giveaways and fun games to play to win tickets for the door prize raffle.

“We played ‘WCU-Switch-A-Roo’ with the students and they really enjoyed it,” WCU-OC Financial Aid Director Teresa Salcedo said.

“We also made positive educational-quote bookmarks for each student to take,” Koshi said. “They loved them.”
