Two board members from the city of Dallas C.E.R.T. team attended presentations by West Coast University students on aspects of disaster management.
The C.E.R.T. (Community Emergency Response Team) members listened as two groups of WCU-Dallas nursing students discussed how to maximize survivability during a mass shooting in a hospital setting and how to prepare and handle pets during disasters.
“It was truly a valuable experience for students,” WCU-Dallas Associate Dean Nakia Scott said.
In December 2017, assistant professor Stephanie Ayers attended an event by the city of Dallas to recognize Hurricane Harvey relief efforts by WCU-Dallas students and staff.
