West Coast University Dental Hygiene Graduates Celebrate at November Pinning

Congratulations to our most recent West Coast University Dental Hygiene graduates! Twenty students in the C-15 cohort celebrated their pinning and awards ceremony at Brookhurst Community Center on Nov. 21.

“We are proud of our November 2015 graduating class,” WCU Dean of Dental Hygiene Dr. Michelle Hurlbutt said. “This ceremony signifies their success in the program and welcomes them into our profession of dental hygiene.”

Each dental hygiene school has a pin unique to the history of the school. The West Coast University pin is a symbol of honor and pride and was designed by the very first graduates of the program in 2011. Each graduate received a purple shawl with the pin attached to it. In addition to their sashes and pins, each graduate received a purple rose to help express the significance and meaning of this pinning ceremony.

This cohort is well on its way to achieving full licensure as 100 percent of the class has passed both their national written examination and their clinical examination. They all currently are applying with the Dental Hygiene Committee of CA (DHCC) for the California Law and Ethics Examination, the third and final exam.

Congratulations to our November 2015 Dental Hygiene Graduates and the award winners from the ceremony:
