WCU Pharmacy Students Wins CPhA Innovative Chapter Award For Third Consecutive Year

For the third year in a row, West Coast University has been honored by the California Pharmacists Association (CPhA) with the Innovative Chapter Award.

The award recognizes California’s most innovative CPhA-Academy of Student Pharmacist (ASP) chapter embodying CPhA’s core values of visionary leadership, innovation, diversity of thought and opportunity, and entrepreneurship.

“This is very special achievement for the students and the two faculty advisors who support them,” WCU School of Pharmacy Dean Karen Hassell said. “No other California Pharmacy school has ever received the award twice, never mind three times in a row. It is an extraordinary accomplishment by everyone involved, and we are immensely proud of their success.”

Additionally, the WCU Academy of Student Pharmacist (ASP) chapter was selected as a CPhA-ASP Chapter of Excellence for their pursuit of CPhA’s mission and goals in promoting the health of the public through the practice of pharmacy. Other 2021 CPhA-ASP Chapters of Excellence include:

  • University of California San Diego
  • University of California San Francisco
  • University of Southern California
  • California Health Sciences University
  • California Northstate University
  • Western University of Health Sciences

The California Pharmacists Association will recognize its 2021 Chapter Award winners at a ceremony in Indian Wells, California on June 19, during Western Pharmacy Exchange.
