Pediatric and public health students from West Coast University-Orange County picked up some hands-on experience this August while helping the community in Santa Ana.
Partnering with Project Access, the students provided eye exams and measured BMI at a health fair for residents of Warwick Square in Santa Ana.
Attendees visited multiple stations, filling up their health passports cards with stickers. Once attendees had received all the stickers from each station, they could enter for a chance to win a Kindle or Amazon gift cards.
“It was a pleasure working with all the students to provide nutrition and health tips and tricks,” WCU-Online Career Services specialist Jennifer Walker said. “Shout out to the pediatric and public health volunteers!”
