WCU-Ontario students and faculty offered vital sign checks and health information to more than 100 veterans this August at the Veterans Expo in Wildomar.
Nearly a dozen members of the Men in Nursing chapter from WCU-Ontario made the trip down to the Wildomar Elks Lodge to support veterans and their family members at the event.
“The veterans were so excited to see the students and commented about their enthusiasm and professionalism,” WCU-Ontario Nursing Associate Director Michelle K. Meitner said. “They appreciated all the care and education provided by the students.”
Students offered blood pressure, heart rate and oxygen levels checks at one station and provided information about health care and the Men in Nursing program to attendees at a second table.
The Veterans Expo was supported by California state Assemblywoman Melissa Melendez.
