The friends and family of West Coast University-Orange County bachelors of science in dental hygiene students filled the Orangewood Academy auditorium to celebrate the pinning of 22 graduates on Sept. 7.

After an accelerated 18-month program, the graduates were excited to graduate and join the profession of dental hygiene. Each graduate took the stage to receive their pin and academic stole, signifying their completion of the BSDH program.

WCU faculty then announced the winners of each of the dental hygiene program awards. The categories included awards for research, ergonomics, community service, clinical excellence, and leadership.

The ceremony concluded with the graduates reading the dental hygiene oath, swearing their commitment to improving the oral health of the public and promote high standards of quality care.
