Recruiters Entice with Gifts, Advice at WCU-LA Career Fair

More than 100 students and alumni attended the West Coast University-Los Angeles Spring career fair in April. Employers like Henry Mayo, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Mission City Network and Cedars Sinai attended the event to speak to students and alumni about internship and career opportunities.

The employers had plenty to offer with swag bags, job insights and helpful advice from a recruiter’s perspective. Andree Mulia, a senior talent advisor for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and a registered nurse, came to WCU-Los Angeles with the goal to recruit new grads for CHLA’s RN residency program. Mulia also came prepared with tips for the new grads looking to make CHLA their home.

“For their first interview they should be engaged, have eye-to-eye contact and really share who they are,” Mulia said. For those who are nervous for their first interview, she said don’t forget to practice.

The best way to practice, of course, is to visit Career Services and get a headstart on resume prep and mock interviews.
