WCU-Dallas BSN Pinning June 2019

West Coast University-Dallas celebrated as another cohort of nurses received their pins this June in a ceremony at the Irving Arts Center. As the event began, the 24 new alumni entered the stage dressed in their signature white outfits, ready to receive their bachelor of science in nursing pins.

Next, the audience was treated to a song by WCU-Dallas’ own Robert Smith. After thunderous applause for Smith, Nakia Scott, WCU-Dallas associate director of nursing, welcomed the new graduates and their loved ones. Before the pins were presented, class speaker Rani Pillai took a moment to reflect back on her time with her cohort.

“Here at West Coast, it’s not just education,” she told the audience. “You’re experiencing this whole new chapter in your life with people who are your family.”

The graduates received their pins from WCU-Dallas nursing director Kathy Smith and nursing associate directors Sherri Smith-Keys and Maura Lindenfield. To close out the ceremony, Nakia Scott congratulated the graduates with a friendly reminder to keep up the hard work as they approach their NCLEX exam, as well as sending best wishes to the new nurses.
