West Coast University-Orange County celebrated its newest class of bachelor of science in nursing graduates on August 26 at Cerritos Park East. In the packed California Room, the 128 graduates took the stage to receive their pins and lanterns. Students also reflected on their time with their cohort by watching a photo slide show documenting their journey together.
Cohort speaker Chris Alanis addressed his class, reflecting on all their hard work during their journey together.
“It’s safe to say that nursing school was not a walk in the park,” he said. “It took a lot for us to get to where we are today. It took long hours of taking notes, putting together care plans, going to PALS tutoring and office hours, crying; we did whatever it took to get through. But through that struggle, we had those people who helped hold our hand along the way and told us it was going to be okay. Each and every one of us deserves to be sitting here today.”
Congratulations to the Class of 2019! Photos from the ceremony can be found on West Coast University’s Facebook page.
