WCU-Miami Celebrates First BSN Cohort Pinning of 2018

West Coast University-Miami celebrated the new year by pinning its first class of bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) graduates this January.

On Jan. 20, friends and family of 34 newly minted BSN graduates filled the Graham Center in Miami for the special event.

“A special thank you to the families, friends, faculty, and associates in attendance,” WCU-Miami Executive Director Joshua Padron said. “Without your dedication to our students, today would not be possible.”

Following the pinning of the graduates, the cohort joined together to say the nursing pledge, a code of ethics followed by nursing professionals, which signifies the cohort’s completion of their schooling and readiness to take their licensing exam.

The Florence Nightingale pledge reads: “In full knowledge of the obligations I am undertaking, I promise to provide care with all the skill and understanding I possess, without regard to race, creed, color, politics or social status, sparing no effort to conserve life, to alleviate suffering and to promote health.”
