WCU-LA Salutes 70 New BSN Grads in September 2016

Nearly 80 BSN graduates received their nursing pin from West Coast University-Los Angeles at a ceremony this September.

“We were lucky to have Association of California Nurse Leaders CEO Patricia McFarland, as a special guest speaker,” WCU-LA Student Affairs Director Anthony Stein said. “She knew a great deal of our former CNSA members and shared her words of wisdom with the graduates. The audience and graduates were all very touched by her speech.”

Many of the 77 graduates were pinned by their parents or mentor nurses. To conclude the event, WCU graduate Minister Levance Larry utilized his oratory skills to give the class an appropriate send off to their dream of becoming RNs.

“It’s a very intimate moment with our friends and family and it’s truly where I felt like all my hard work had paid off,” WCU-LA BSN graduate Shawn Palmer said. “It’s such a great moment because that’s when you literally feel like it’s over and your accomplishments have been made and you’re really ready to transition into practice. It was a great day.”
