For the second straight year, the Los Angeles Downtown Medical Center and its Foundation awarded scholarship gifts of $2,000 to a group of West Coast University-Los Angeles students. The gifts increased from the $1,000 scholarship presented to WCU students last year.
Hospital owners Vicki Rollins and Bill Nelson, along with CEO Mark Valentino, distributed the checks during the summer health fair. Additionally, 15 associate degree in nursing students from American Career College-Los Angeles also received $2,000 scholarships during the presentation.
“We are so grateful that LA Downtown Medical Center recognizes the potential of our students and shares this support with them,” WCU clinical relations manager Samir Roberts said. “The LADMC Foundation is focused on supporting the development and growth of individuals who have been called into healthcare.”
During the event, it was also announced LADMC had again received designation as a Five-Star health care facility.
