WCU-Dallas Pins 33 BSN Graduates in June

The Jack E. Singley Academy was packed with the family and friends of 33 BSN graduates on June 22 in anticipation of the West Coast University-Dallas BSN pinning.

The ceremony began with a brief welcome from Interim Dean of Nursing Dr. Sherri Smith-Keys.

“Welcome to all in attendance today. I would like to give a special thank you to the faculty, associates, and the Student Nurses Association student volunteers for your assistance with the ceremony,” she said. “Without your dedication to our students, today would not be possible.”

After a speech from student speaker Gursharan Singh, the graduates were called to cross the stage to receive their pins and lanterns, signifying the completion of their nursing program.

The ceremony ended with the reading of the nursing pledge which states the ethics and principles of the nursing profession.

“I promise to provide care with all the skill and understanding I possess, without regard to race, creed, color, politics or social status, sparing no effort to conserve life, to alleviate suffering and to promote health.”
