Future Faces of Health Care: Michael Mekharian

Michael Mekharian wants to make a difference in peoples lives. He credits much of his inspiration to go into nursing to a nurse that helped his grandmother while she was battling breast cancer. “I remember even after she had beat the breast cancer she would continue talking about this nurse” Michael said during his interview. “Every time the topic would come up and I thought to myself, I want to be like that nurse,” he continued.

So, after being inspired, Michael began the journey to becoming a nurse and enrolled at West Coast University. While he says that the journey has not always been easy, he finds that “you basically come out finishing the term… feeling better and prouder about yourself.”

As Michael continues to work toward his degree at WCU, he is motivated by the hopes of one day becoming a CRNA and working in an ICU department. To see Michael’s full interview, watch the video above.
