Supporting Our Alumni

As a WCU alum, you can take advantage of our scholarships and grants to continue your education with an advanced degree. There are also scholarships available for graduates of American Career College. Explore the different opportunities!


Alumni Pathway Grant

Available for both WCU and ACC graduates, the Alumni Pathway Grant covers up to 20% of your tuition when you enroll in one of WCU’s online programs. Additionally, if you enroll within six months of graduation, the grant covers an additional 5% for a total tuition reduction of 25%.

Eligibility Requirements

In order to be eligible for the Alumni Pathway Grant, you must:

  1. Meet all of WCU’s admissions requirements
  2. Be admitted to the university for enrollment in an online degree program
  3. Have graduated from a program at either American Career College or West Coast University

The Alumni Pathway Grant will automatically renew each year. The Alumni Pathway Grant may not be combined with any other WCU scholarships or grants except for the WCU Health Services Partner Grant. There is no cash value to the grant. Students who withdraw prior to the end of a trimester will have their grant reduced proportionately to the percent of tuition earned.

WCU Alumni Association Professional Development Scholarship

The WCU Alumni Association Professional Development Scholarship provides financial assistance to WCU alumni who are expanding their education through continuing education units (CEUs), conferences, or other professional development opportunities in the healthcare or leadership fields. The scholarship provides up to $500 once per calendar year.

Application Information

Application Deadline: April 1st and October 1st

Recipients will be notified by May 1 and November 1 and will be recognized via Alumni Association communications and events.

Award Amount: Up to $500 per recipient, once per calendar year. Awards will be paid directly to the alumni via check upon completion of CEU, conference, or seminar.

Application Submission Process: Applicants must submit the scholarship application via the online form. Below are the required documents that must accompany your application.

  • Two references
  • Resume
  • Copy of WCU transcript
  • Proof of attendance and payment confirmation (invoices/receipts):
    • Reimbursable expenses include registration fee, hotel and/or airfare.
  • 250+ word personal statement that must include the following:
    • What does being WCU Proud mean to you?
    • How will this opportunity enhance your career goals?
    • What did you learn from this opportunity?

Eligibility Requirements

Must be a graduate (alumni) of West Coast University.

  1. All majors are eligible.
  2. Conference, CEU or seminar must be completed within the 6 months prior to the application deadline (April 1 and October 1).
  3. If chosen, additional paperwork may be required.

Financial Aid and scholarships available for those who qualify.

WCU Alumni Association Scholarship

The WCU Alumni Association Scholarship was created to help provide financial assistance to WCU alumni who are enrolled in a graduate-level degree program at WCU or any accredited higher education institution. The scholarship provides $2,500 per recipient, non-recurring.

For WCU students, funds will be sent directly to the school, and the school will apply the funds against the student’s existing tuition and fee charges for the upcoming term. For outside universities, funds will be sent directly to the institution’s financial aid office for the upcoming term.

  • Copy of WCU or institution transcript
  • 250+ word personal statement that may include the following:
    • What does being WCU Proud mean to you?
    • What are your career goals?
    • Have you been involved with the Alumni Association since your graduation?

Eligibility Requirements

  1. Have graduated from a WCU degree program
  2. Be a full-time, degree-seeking graduate student at West Coast University or another institution accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education
  3. Have one full term remaining at the time of the application deadline (April 1 and October 1)
  4. Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher for your current program at the time of application
  5. Complete any required paperwork if chosen

WCU Proud Scholarship

The WCU Proud Scholarship was created to help provide financial assistance toward the education of current WCU undergraduate and graduate students who have exemplified school spirit and are striving to be ahead of the curve.

The scholarship provides $1,000 per recipient, non-recurring. Funds will be sent directly to the school, and the school will apply the funds against the student’s existing tuition and fee charges for the upcoming term.

  1. Be a full time, degree-seeking, undergraduate or graduate student of West Coast University.
  2. Must have at least one full term remaining at the time of application deadline (April 1 and October 1).
  3. Student’s cumulative incoming GPA must be 3.0 or higher at time of application.
  4. All majors are eligible
  5. Recipients are eligible for one scholarship, per year and degree program.
  6. If a student is listed as a Leave of Absence (LOA) at the time of funding, funds will be retained for one additional full term before being remitted back to the WCU Alumni Scholarship Fund. Applicants will be eligible to reapply for future scholarships.
  7. Should a student withdraw from the university during the term, unused funds will be remitted back to the WCU Alumni Association Scholarship Fund.
  8. If chosen, additional paperwork may be required.

The WCU Alumni Association Legacy Scholarship was created to support a family tradition of WCU Alumni and provide financial assistance to current WCU undergraduate and graduate students who have a relative that is a WCU Alumni.

    • Why is it important to continue the ACC or WCU legacy?
    • What does being ACC or WCU Proud mean to you?

Eligibility Requirements

  1. Be a full time, degree-seeking, undergraduate or graduate student of American Career College or West Coast University or been accepted to an American Career College or West Coast University program.
  2. Student’s cumulative ACC or WCU GPA must be 3.0 or higher at time of application
  3. Must have at least one full term remaining at the time of application deadline (April 1 and October 1).
  4. Must have a family member who is a graduate (alumni) of American Career College or West Coast University.
  5. All majors are eligible.
  6. Recipients are eligible for one scholarship, per year and degree program.
  7. If a student is listed as a Leave of Absence (LOA) at the time of funding, funds will be retained for one additional full term before being remitted back to the WCU Alumni Scholarship Fund. Applicants will be eligible to reapply for future scholarships.
  8. Should a student withdraw from the university during the term, unused funds will be remitted back to the WCU Alumni Association Scholarship Fund.
  9. If chosen, additional paperwork may be required.

ACC Alumni Bridge Scholarship

The ACC Alumni Bridge Scholarship was created to provide financial assistance to American Career College Alumni who enroll in an On-Ground or Online Program at West Coast University. The scholarship helps support a student’s career pathway and educational pursuits.

Recipients will be notified by May 1 and November 1 and will be recognized via Alumni Association communications and events.

Award Amount: $1,500 per applicant, non-recurring. Funds will be sent directly to the school and the school will apply the funds against the student’s existing tuition & fee charges for the upcoming term.

Application Submission Process: Applicants must submit the scholarship application via the online form.  Below are the required documents that must accompany your application.

  • Copy of WCU transcript as proof of enrollment.
  • Two references
  • Resume
  • Personal statement, 250-word minimum. Please include the following:
    • What are your career goals?
    • How will your experience at ACC assist you in your WCU education?
    • What does being ACC and WCU Proud mean to you?

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must have at least one full term remaining at the time of application deadline (April 1 and October 1).
  • Be an ACC Graduate and a full time, degree-seeking candidate of West Coast University.
  • Student’s cumulative WCU GPA must be 3.0 or higher at time of application.
  • All WCU programs are eligible.
  • Recipients are eligible for one scholarship, per year and degree program.
  • If a student is listed as a Leave of Absence (LOA) at the time of funding, funds will be retained for one additional full term before being remitted back to the WCU Alumni Scholarship Fund. Applicants will be eligible to reapply for future scholarships.
  • Should a student withdraw from the university during the term, unused funds will be remitted back to the WCU Alumni Association Scholarship Fund.

WCU Texas Proud Scholarship

The WCU Texas Proud Scholarship helps provide financial assistance to WCU-Texas undergraduate students who are enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or LVN to BSN programs.

The scholarship provides $1,000 per recipient, non-recurring. Funds will be sent directly to the school, and the school will apply the funds against the student’s existing tuition and fee charges for the upcoming term.

Eligibility Requirements

  1. Be a full time, degree-seeking, undergraduate, student of West Coast University-Texas, enrolled in either the BSN or LVN to BSN degree program.
  2. Must have at least one full term remaining at the time of application deadline (April 1 and October 1).
  3. Student’s cumulative WCU GPA must be 3.0 or higher at time of application.
  4. Recipients are eligible for one scholarship, per year and degree program.
  5. If a student is listed as a Leave of Absence (LOA) at the time of funding, funds will be retained for one additional full term before being remitted back to the WCU Alumni Scholarship Fund. Applicants will be eligible to reapply for future scholarships.
  6. Should a student withdraw from the university during the term, unused funds will be remitted back to the WCU Alumni Association Scholarship Fund.
  7. If chosen, additional paperwork may be required.

WCU Sigma Theta Tau Scholarship

The WCU Sigma Theta Tau Scholarship was created to help provide financial assistance for WCU alumni pursing their graduate education and who are members of the WCU Chi Beta Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

Award Amount: $2,500 each, non-recurring. Funds will be sent directly to the school and the school will apply the funds against the student’s existing tuition & fee charges for the upcoming term.

  • Confirmation of current membership to the WCU Chi Beta Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International (ex. invoice, receipt, etc.)
  • 250+ word personal statement including the below:
    • What does being WCU Proud mean to you?
    • What does it mean to be a member of Chi Beta Sigma Theta Tau International?
    • What are your career goals?

Eligibility Requirements

  1. Be a full-time (6 semester units per semester/trimester), degree-seeking, graduate nursing student at West Coast University.
  2. Must have at least one full term remaining at the time of application deadline (April 1 and October 1).
  3. Must be a dues paying member and be in good standing in the WCU Chi Beta Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International.
  4. Student’s cumulative GPA for the current program, must be 3.5 or higher at the time of application.
  5. Recipients are eligible for one scholarship, per year and degree program.
  6. If a student is listed as a Leave of Absence (LOA) via at the time of funding, funds will be retained for one additional full term before being remitted back to the WCU Alumni Scholarship. Applicants will be eligible to reapply for future scholarships.
  7. Should a student withdraw from the University during the term, unused funds will be remitted back to the WCU Alumni Association Scholarship Fund.
  8. If chosen, additional paperwork may be required.
