Scholarships & Grants<br>

Scholarships are a form of aid that helps students pay for their education. Unlike student loans, scholarships do not have to be repaid. Hundreds of thousands of scholarships from several thousand sponsors are awarded each year.

A scholarship award is exclusive of the other awards.  Thus, a student would receive the amount for the highest level for which the student was selected.  For example, if the student was selected for both a Presidential Scholarship and a Trustee Award, then that student would receive only the Presidential award.  Only one scholarship will be awarded per student.

Students interested in receiving an award described above must notify the program Dean of his/her interest as a part of the program application process.

Scholarships will be applied toward required tuition and fees.  There is no cash value for this scholarship; students who withdraw prior to program completion will forfeit future disbursements.

External Scholarships

Generally, external scholarships are reserved for students with special qualifications, such as academic or artistic talent. Awards are also available for students who are interested in particular fields of study, who are members of underrepresented groups, who live in certain areas of the country or who demonstrate financial need.  The best way to search for scholarships and fellowships is to use a personalized search, like FastWeb scholarship search, that compares your background with a database of awards. Only those awards that fit your profile are identified as matches.

There are also many scholarship books available online and in libraries.  All students are encouraged to search for scholarships by going to the library, searching the internet, calling local organizations, or inquiring at employers, hospitals, or your high school.

West Coast University has compiled the list below as a resource for students seeking additional financial assistance while pursuing their education.  We do not guarantee that all information is up to date and we cannot promise you success in seeking other forms of funding, but many other students have utilized these services with success.  These scholarships are not sponsored by West Coast University.
