The way in which you speak to yourself has a huge impact on who you are and how you live your life. A habit of positive self-talk uplifts you. It helps increase your confidence, enables you to attract what your heart desires, and allows you to adopt a healthier lifestyle while reducing stress.
It is important to constantly remind yourself to speak kindly to yourself until it becomes a habit.
Be aware of your self-talk when you wake up, when you’re driving to work, waiting to be served at a restaurant, exercising, or lying down; use it every day, in all situations. You may even want to write down how many time you use words like: don’t, stop, no, won’t, dislike, etc.
When students visit me, these are some of their self-talk statements:
"I don't want to feel overwhelmed. I don't want to feel full of anxiety and stress. I don't want to be rushed every minute of every day. I don't want to feel tired and exhausted. I don't want to feel like I am spinning all the time. I don't want to feel taken advantage of. I don't want to just exist."
Stop your mind and shift your focus on what you DO want. The Law of Attraction is in progress here. What we focus on expands and what we send out into the universe will always return to us.
In Psychology, it is called a self-fulfilling prophecy. A self-fulfilling prophecy is a prediction that causes it (your thought) to come true due to the simple fact that the prediction was made. This happens because our beliefs influence our actions.
Change your self-talk to:
I am capable. I am enough as I stand here today. I will think thoughts that serve me in a positive manner. I will share my happiness willingly with those around me. I feel energetic and alive. I am confident. I know with time and effort I can achieve the things I want in my life. Each positive step brings me towards my desired abundance.
Be mindful that your self-talk creates your reality. Start today to bring positive thoughts and habits into your life. Your thoughts will become your actions so speak kindly and tread softly.
