WCU Student Spotlight: Christine Akskalyan

I started my Administrator-In-Training program for my Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) license about three weeks ago. I don't know how I would possibly squeeze in an in person interview with my hectic schedule (full-time AIT training, full-time school, wedding planning) but I would definitely be interested in a phone interview. I commute from Burbank to Anaheim on the daily basis for the AIT training so I get home very late.

I completed 120 hours so far out of 1,000-hour requirement of the training and am scheduled to take my state and federal exam in October 2017.

I am excited to be done with both the MHA program and finish up my AIT program later on this year to finally focus on my career. I love the flexibility of the MHA program especially because I have so much going on in my life right now and it allows me to work on the assignments at my own time. I just hope it will all be worth it in the end after I graduate and obtain my NHA license.
