WCU-Ontario Blood Drive Produces Campus Record Number of Donations

Posted on 06/25/2018

West Coast University-Ontario turned out in record numbers this June for the campus blood drive.

According to WCU-Ontario Student Services Coordinator Roxanne Mendoza, nearly 40 donations were collected on June 22 by LifeStream, which will be able to help 117 local hospital patients.

"That is the most donors the Ontario campus has ever had," Mendoza said. "We had a great turn out and I want to give a very special thank you to the CNSA members and the WCU-Ontario students and staff that either volunteered their time, donated or both."

LifeStream separates each donation into three products (platelets, plasma and red cells) for future use. Blood and platelets cannot be manufactured, Mendoza said, and only are produced by human donors.
