WCU-Miami BSN Students Volunteer at Doral Pro Health Community Health Fair

Posted on 10/07/2019

In partnership with West Coast University-Miami, Doral Pro Health held a community health fair on campus this October.

More than 100 members from the community visited the fair throughout the day to utilize services provided, according to WCU-Miami Career Services director Georgeta Railic. About 10 WCU students and staff volunteered part of their weekend to help perform blood pressure checks and other duties.

"I love it when the community comes together for a good cause," Railic said, "and kudos to all volunteers giving up a Saturday to help others in the community live healthy lives."

Health fair attendees had the opportunity to meet with healthcare professionals in the medical, dental and allied health fields to learn about preventative methods, receive treatment and discuss primary care options.

Doral Pro Health is a non-profit foundation formed in 2014 by professionals in the medical and dentistry field.
