Master of Physician Assistant

Apply Online
Why?

The West Coast University Master of Physician Assistant program helps prepare students to excel as clinicians and leaders by providing them with opportunities to learn and adopt practice-ready knowledge, skills, and behaviors that are patient-centered, focused on community health, and which embrace cultural humility, adaptability, and agility within the evolving, challenging, and ambiguous context of contemporary healthcare.

Support Beyond Graduation

West Coast University supports its Physician Assistant students beyond the last day of class. We are committed to helping our graduates throughout their careers.

Through our Career Service Department, we provide ongoing assistance with professional and career development through workshops and guidance for our students and graduates. We partner with industry professionals to enhance our students’ prospects for securing employment and obtaining professional success

Program Goals

  1. Recruit enthusiastic physician assistant students from diverse backgrounds who display passion, commitment and resiliency toward healthcare delivery, tenacity for problem solving, and a robust appetite for learning, collaborating, and growing.
  2. Provide a curriculum that utilizes innovation technologies to engage students’ full capacity as learners and propel them toward a career rather than merely help them acquire medical knowledge and skills.
  3. Provide clinical training opportunities that embody the mission and vision of our program and meet the needs of our students and the healthcare community.
  4. Prepare graduates for the Physician Assistant National Certification Examination (PANCE), as the universal benchmark to begin practice, with a first-time pass rate exceeding the national average.
  5. Create physician assistant clinical leaders who are ready on the first day of practice to embody the mission and values of West Coast University through cultural humility, self-agency, stewardship, collaboration, and resourcefulness.

Accreditation

The ARC-PA has granted Accreditation-Provisional status to the West Coast University Physician Assistant Program sponsored by West Coast University.

Accreditation-Provisional is an accreditation status granted when the plans and resource allocation, if fully implemented as planned, of a proposed program that has not yet enrolled students appear to demonstrate the program’s ability to meet the ARC-PA Standards or when a program holding Accreditation. Provisional status appears to demonstrate continued progress in complying with the Standards as it prepares for the graduation of the first class (cohort) of students.

Accreditation-Provisional does not ensure any subsequent accreditation status. It is limited to no more than five years from matriculation of the first class. The program’s accreditation history can be viewed on the ARC-PA website at http://www.arc-pa.org/accreditation-history-west-coast-university/
