Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene Curriculum
The Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene curriculum includes general education, prerequisites and dental hygiene studies. For this full-time Dental Hygienist program, the majority of classes are held on-campus with some general education and prerequisite classes offered online and select core dental hygiene classes offered in a blended format with an on-campus and online learning environment.
With WCU’s BSDH curriculum, you have the opportunity to learn the skills of a dental hygienist in our simulation lab. Our lab workstations are equipped with artificial patients to simulate real-world settings. After several months of working and being tested in the simulation lab, you will care for patients in our on-site, free Dental Hygiene Clinic.
In 2016, 95% of the WCU Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene graduates have passed the National Board Dental Hygiene Examination (NBDHE) and 100% passed a clinical examination. Passage of both examinations is required for licensure and practice.
