Health & Safety
West Coast University programs are designed with your safety in mind. Locations are carefully reviewed to ensure an enriching, yet safe, experience for students. Students are, however, a part of the health and safety team for international education. Below are a few reminders and tips for students planning to participate in a program abroad.
All participants are required to have medical insurance. Students should check with their primary insurance carrier to ensure adequate coverage for accident, illness, or long-term disability while abroad. It is also important to note any changes in coverage, claims processing, or network providers on-site.
Additional Insurance coverage
Students may elect to purchase additional health and travel insurance for the duration of their program. Please visit the NAFSA listing of Health Insurance Companies to learn more about study abroad coverages. West Coast University does not recommend any particular vendor, but provides this as a resource for students only. This page also lists resources for students on health and wellness.
Zurich Travel Assist and TravelKit
WCU provides students with access to Zurich Travel Assist, which has an easily accessible phone app to help you as you travel abroad. Use the information below to create an account and learn more about current conditions in your planned study abroad location:
