WCU Emergency Fund

5/20/20

West Coast University has established a student emergency grant fund to assist recent graduates and students who have increased expenses due to the coronavirus (such as food, housing, course materials, technology, health care, and child care) but who do not meet the general eligibility requirements for a CARES Act Grant. Approved awards will be distributed directly to the student for the expenses identified, regardless of any outstanding balance owed to the University.

Grant offers to students for approved applications will be made on the basis of the individual student’s enrollment status and Expected Family Contribution (EFC) as calculated from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), according to the chart shown below:

Award amounts for eligible students or recent graduates will be the lesser of either the amount requested by the student, or the maximum shown above for the student’s Expected Family Contribution. For purposes of this grant, if a student has both a 2019-20 and 2020-21 Institutional Student Information Record on file with the University, the lower Expected Family Contribution will be used to determine maximum award eligibility.
