Arte Libunao is the provost and chief academic officer at West Coast University. His expertise is using innovation and cutting-edge technology to increase efficiency in the classroom and improve student learning outcomes for on-campus and distance education programs. Mr. Libunao implemented the first use of augmented reality technology in higher education within the classroom.

Prior to his position at West Coast University, Mr. Libunao had several decades of experience as a CFO and C-suite executive for publicly traded companies including GMAC – Ditech, Aames Finance, People’s Choice Homeloans, Countrywide, Credit Suisse, Lehman Brothers and Deutschebank.

In his capacity as an executive at these institutions, Mr. Libunao was known for his leading-edge results including launching one of the first reverse mortgage platforms, creating and running a new commercial lending division, negotiating and completing several mergers/acquisitions and creating and implementing a project plan to turn around first-time pass rates for NCLEX.

Mr. Libunao attended California State University, Long Beach where earned his bachelor’s degree in economics. He later attended the Graziadio Business School at Pepperdine University for his MBA.

Mr. Libunao is an avid outdoorsman, and enjoys motor sport racing and spending time with his three adult children.
