West Coast University is committed to providing dental professionals in our community with high-quality, university-based educational opportunities at no cost. Our Grand Rounds courses highlight the latest in scientific and clinical knowledge, which help enhance your students’ techniques and continued competency with practical and innovative training. The Dental Hygiene program will be sponsoring two more Grand Rounds events at no cost in 2012. Each Grand Round will feature registration and a light meal from 6:00pm-7:00pm. Tours of the Dental Hygiene Clinic will be available with student and faculty ambassadors during these times as well. Presentations will begin at 7:00pm and end at 9:00pm.
June Dental Hygiene Grand Rounds:
Our June Grand Round will be held on Tuesday, June 26, 2012. The course topic is “Interdisciplinary Treatment – A Blend of Art and Science.” It will feature speaker Devin L. Stewart, DDS, a Newport Coast Oral Facial Institute Course Instructor. The program will address the necessary steps for diagnosis, treatment planning, sequencing treatment, and making appropriate referrals. It will also highlight some exciting advances in science and how they contribute to final diagnosis.
October Dental Hygiene Grand Rounds:
The last Grand Round of 2012 will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2012. The Dental Hygiene Program will host a Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers CPR and AED course. The course will be given by CPR trainer Jack Griswold. This course is for health care professionals who wish to learn how to perform CPR as well as other lifesaving techniques. Guests will receive two Dental CEU’s and an American Heart Association card after the presentation.
