Posted on 10/11/2017

The West Coast University-Ontario Career Services team and guests attended the Dice & Derby charity event for Dignity Health this October. .

The evening benefited the St. Bernardine Medical Center and Community Hospital of San Bernardino Foundation by supporting the Dignity Health Youth Programs, which provide experiences for youth in the community to gain exposure to healthcare careers.

“It was an honor to attend the Dignity Health event and represent West Coast University,” WCU-Ontario Executive Director Mitch Thomas said. “We are proud to partner with Dignity Health knowing there will be future health career seeds planted in the lives of the youth in San Bernardino and the Inland Empire.”

WCU was a “Lady Luck" sponsor at the event and had the opportunity to name one of the horses in the night’s races. The WCU-Ontario selected the name “Green Light” in honor of the campuses most recent efforts to bring awareness to the success our students see in their results on NCLEX pass rates.

Besides Thomas, other WCU faculty and staff attending the event included campus Nursing Dean Diane Morey, campus Academic Dean Bart Lerner, Clinical Relations Manager Traci Duda, Clinical Faculty Manager Lisa Gottuso, Career Services senior specialist Mercedes Garner, Career Services Director Michelle Meitner and Associate Dean Michelle Cortez.
