WCU-Orange County Career Services director Ann Marie Rivera presented the check to Torrance Memorial oncology director Nancy Lean, Chief Nursing Officer Barbara Lequire and foundation liaison Danielle Boujikian.

“I was ecstatic to present this donation for this great cause,” Rivera said. “Torrance Memorial is a valued educational partner, and since 2015 they have hired more than 80 of our graduates.”

Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in the United States, yet also one of the most preventable. The no-cost colon cancer screening will be at the Hoffman Health Conference Center on March 15 from 5:30–7pm.

After the screenings, experts will hold a panel discussion on “the dreaded” but life-saving colonoscopy test and share information about advanced tumor-shrinking therapies, like highly targeted stereotactic radiation.

“We value our West Coast partner and appreciate their ongoing support and generosity,” the hospital said on Facebook.
