First WCU MSOT Cohort Has 100% Certification Pass Rate

It's official: West Coast University's first masters of science in occupational therapy cohort was perfect.

  • Total number of NG testing: 23
  • Toal number of NG passing: 23 (100%)
  • Total number of NG failing: 0 (0%)
  • Total score average: 476

*NG = Candidates testing within one year of graduation, regardless of the number of attempts of the examination.

Results from the 2015 National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy exam have been posted and all 23 grads from WCU's inaugural MSOT cohort passed on their first try.

WCU OT Founding Dean, Program Director Nicolaas van den Heever, OTD, BOT, OTR/L, called the results "astounding," but said it only confirmed what he already knew.

"This was the final evidence we needed that proves our students are getting an outstanding education at a very new program," van den Heever said. "This validates that the knowledge and skills attained by our students, allows them the opportunity to succeed as professionals." 

Data were prepared to the ACOTE standard A5.6 and includes the total number of New Graduate (NG) candidates testing from the program.

WCU's passing candidates are Kristine Barangan, Krystal Belan, Stephen Bohn, Amanda Clark, Joshela Clark, Parisa J. Crane, Shivoni Gerard, Patrick Hellmann, Beth Hobbs, Minji Cho Hyun, Katrina Lambert, Shira Richards Levine, Rachel Marks, Jamie McGill, Melissa Pagayunan, Lourdes Reyes, Amanda Rousso, Moriah Scannell, Sophia Sperling, Tony Tran, Christina Vargo-Sanchez, Kelly Wolfe and Brooke Woodfield.
