As a talent acquisition specialist for the Los Angeles Unified School District, Yokoi is constantly on the look-out for people who would love to go back to school — but to work as a health care professional.

"LA Unified is a great place to work — great people to work with, great benefits, good pay," Yokoi said. "The No. 1 thing is, you get to be a kid because you get summer vacations, you get all these holidays and it's just a great, fun place."

Yokoi stopped by West Coast University's Center for Graduate Studies during the Fall 2017 Career Fair. He was trying to fill several openings for physical therapists, occupational therapist and registered nurses. Yokoi said the key to getting hired wasn't what you put on your resume, but what kind of energy you put out during the interview.

"I think it's just having heart. I don't know if there's anything you can write on a resume. Anyone can write anything they want on a resume, but really just coming out and just showing your passion," he said. "What comes through mostly is personality. You look for someone who has a great personality, someone who is outgoing and somebody who enjoys working with kids."
