Bachelor Science in Nursing - Letter from the Dean

Dear Future Nursing Student,

That certainly has a nice sound to it! On behalf of the College of Nursing, I want to welcome you to West Coast University. As you peruse the website, I hope it is apparent to you that West Coast University is student-centric, and looks forward to partnering with you to achieve your personal and profession goals. The program is a quality learning experience which combines active learning, direct care opportunities, simulation education, interprofessional team building, and a global perspective into the core nursing curriculum. As I often tell prospective students, nursing is one education with 1000 career opportunities.

As a professionally accredited program preparing nurses for professional nursing practice, we ensure our graduates have a liberal education, basic leadership competence for a role in healthcare, make evidence-based decisions, incorporate technology into practice, influence healthcare decisions, communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team, promote health, practice according to the highest professional and ethical standards, and are ready to practice in a variety of settings upon graduation—how exciting!

I encourage you to reach out to the admissions team, and to me, if further information is needed as you consider your decision to pursue professional nursing. Thanks for considering nursing at West Coast University.
