West Coast University offers both undergraduate and graduate programs designed to accommodate qualified students who are seeking to begin or to further a career in nursing, dental hygiene, occupational therapy, health administration and physical therapy.

West Coast University is a university accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission to award Bachelor's and Master's degrees.

 

Undergraduate Programs

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Students can earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in as little as 39 months, without an LVN license. Once you have been assigned a start date, you won't have to worry about wait lists to get the classes you need. Prerequisites are included in the program. Graduates are prepared for nursing positions across a wide spectrum of interests including pediatrics, medical-surgical nursing, gerontology, psychiatric/mental health, community health and home care nursing.

Registered Nurse (RN) to BSN - Online

Tailored for the working RN, the RN to BSN online program is designed to be completed in as little as 12 months—and our streamlined curriculum allows up to 84 transfer credit hours. Your experience counts with WCU online—be sure to ask how both the education you’ve completed and your experience in the field can apply toward your degree.  Classes start every 8 weeks.

Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to BSN

This program focuses on the skills and experiences nurses bring to the educational setting. The curriculum includes required general education coursework as well as nursing courses designed to develop leadership and management skills for the nursing professional. The program allows licensed vocational nurses to earn their BSN and meet the requirements for an RN license in as little as 34 months. Once you have been assigned a start date, you won't have to worry about wait lists to get the classes you need.

Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene

West Coast University's Orange County campus is home to our Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene, the first in Orange County and one of only four in California. WCU's program has been accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA). Students have the opportunity to learn the skills of a dental hygienist in WCU's simulation lab. After several months of working and being tested in the simulation lab, students care for patients at WCU's on-site clinic that provides free dental hygiene services to the community.

Master of Science in Nursing-Family Nurse Practitioner - Online

The WCU Master of Science in Nursing degree - Family Nurse Practitioner track has been developed to help you take your career to the next level. This 53-credit program can be completed in as little as 36 months and has one start per year. The MSN core course are delivered online and followed by FNP specialty courses that are offered in a bookend format (attend the first and last class of each term at the Los Angeles campus and complete the balance of the curriculum online). The program also includes 650 Precepted Clinical hours.

Master of Science in Occupational Therapy

Doctor of Physical Therapy

Leveraging innovative learning strategies, West Coast University's Doctor of Physical Therapy program places experience and collaboration at the cornerstone of student achievement. Classroom theory comes alive with a progression of dynamic clinical experiences. West Coast University's School of Pharmacy offers a traditional 4 year degree program, providing an educational experience that combines hands-on practical experience with rigorous academic coursework.  This will allow the student to reinforce the theoretical framework and concepts with practical hands-on experience from the outset.
