Checklist for High School Seniors

The decision to apply for college is an important one, and incoming students have many questions. One important WCU distinction is that we have only one application for our programs.

  • SAT or ACT (Nursing Program) - High School seniors wanting to start West Coast University in the summer or fall, should make sure to take the SAT or ACT no later than spring of their senior year. Both SAT and ACT scores can be used to apply for admission into the nursing program.
  • TEAS V (Dental Hygiene Program) - Students applying for the dental hygiene program must pass the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS V) as well as complete a minimum of eight (8) hours of Registered Dental Hygienist Observations. Application deadlines and information about the TEAS V Examination and Dental Hygiene Observation are provided during the application process and information sessions.
  • FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) - High School seniors should complete their FAFSA by the end of February of their senior year. For information about FAFSA visit https://studentaid.ed.gov.
  • Campus Visit - Students and their parents should schedule a visit to West Coast University to meet with the office of admissions to have a tour of the campus and attend an information session. This should also happen during a High School student's senior year.

Our Student Success

"When it comes to choosing nursing schools, there are two main factors you have to look out for: time and money. And if you have the time, you can go to community college and wait five years. Or if you have the ability, go to West Coast and get your degree. For me this was a third career and West Coast just got the job done."
